Don’s Quilt UFO Chapter 2: Center Medallion

It took a couple tries before I found the right foliage greens, but I really like these.

I did some shading on the big blossoms because there were places where petals of the same fabric overlapped and you lost the definition.  I shaded the buds’ green, too.  I will probably add some shading to the leaves.

I wasn’t sure about the daisy fabric.  I liked the left one, but the spot of fabric for the right one had no purple in it and I wasn’t sure.  But now that I have it up on the design wall with the background it looks just fine.

I have 2 green yarns that I’ll twist together for the vines on the other medallions.  I’ll probably run out of the darker leaf color, but something appropriate will turn up.  I think my next big decision is what to do about the background of the other medallions.  He used that pale purple fairy frost.  Do I buy that or go with something else?
